End of Season Bash a Roaring Success
Secaucus, NJ –
A great time was had by all at Secaucus FC’s end of season bash and awards ceremony Saturday afternoon at Outback Steakhouse in Secaucus. Over 80 people were on hand to celebrate the best season in SFC history after the club took second in GSSL Semi Pro North action, advanced in the NJ State Cup, and made it to the quarterfinals of the 2009 GSSL Semi Pro League Cup.
In all, three player awards and fifteen prizes were given out including a Brother all-in-one printer, an Outback gift basket, and several gift certificates to places like The Grasshopper in Carlstadt, the Premier Soccer Shop in Hoboken, Piccolo Roma Restaurant in Hoboken, and Trillo’s Restaurant in Secaucus.

The big winner on the day was Eugene Gormley who got the nod from club management for the 2009 Secaucus FC Player of the Year award and also took home the 2009 Secaucus FC Golden Boot for being the team’s top scorer with 20 goals in 17 games.
Goalkeeper Jeff East also won big taking home arguably the biggest award on the night, the 2009 Secaucus FC Players’ Player of the Year award as voted on by his fellow teammates.
The event started at eleven in the morning to a slow arriving crowd. The buffet featured delicious beef, grilled chicken, chicken fingers, chicken wings, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, pasta with mixed vegetables, a mixed greens salad, and ice cream for dessert. Soda, iced tea, coffee, and water were included with the meal with a $3 beer special, through a donation from Mulligan’s in Hoboken.
The team now breaks for about six weeks before coming back together to start preseason training for next year in late July.
